Chemical attributes of an Oxisol with the addition of conilon coffee straw biochar

Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects increasing rates biochar produced with coffee straw, at two pyrolysis temperatures, on chemical attributes an Oxisol cultivated conilon (Coffea canephora) and nutrient content tree leaves. Treatments consisted temperatures (350 600 °C) five (0, 5, 10, 15, 20 Mg ha-1). following soil were evaluated: pH in water; P, K, Ca, Mg, Al, H+Al, Zn, Cu, Fe, Mn contents; effective potential cation exchange capacity (CEC); sum bases (SB); base (V) aluminium (m) saturation; N, contents 600°C, 10 15 ha-1, promoted a greater K release into soil. Regardless temperature, straw increased P availability, bases, saturation, CEC soil, but did not influence macro- micronutrient addition increases SB, CEC, V, regardless temperature.
